To Provide You with Updated and Novel Evidence-Based Concepts in Vestibular Medicine and to Reflect on Your Professional Growth from Competency to Proficiency
You will join and learn along side the participants in our flagship CCVR 3.0 Course! You can jump in on lessons that you need a refresher and get one-on-one access to the course instructors during the weekly coaching calls. The next enrollment starts on August 25th.
After completing your competency-based course(s) and putting your knowledge and skills into practice, it’s likely you can more clearly and quickly identify relevant and irrelevant information. Having more experience in vestibular-related patient care provides us with more confidence to utilize our working knowledge and apply it to solving new problems. We gain a deeper understanding of alternative options and our decision-making capabilities become less labored and intuitive.
The recertification course covers essential updates in the field including new research, technique modifications, and equipment advancements while reinforcing core competencies. The course structure allows you to demonstrate advanced application of your knowledge base through class discussions, quizzes, and clinical applications involving more complex scenarios.
Course requirements include completing quizzes and two discussion posts per week: one in the Recertification Discussion Board and a second in What's on your mind? where you'll either pose a clinical question or share a relevant patient experience.
You will join and learn along side the participants in our flagship CCVR 3.0 Course that kicks off on Aug. 25th! This ensures you're part of a vibrant learning community rather than studying in alone. This collaborative environment provides invaluable opportunities to connect with peers, share clinical experiences, and learn from diverse perspectives - all essential elements for meaningful professional growth and continued expertise development. The Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation Recertification Course is designed for a graduate of a vestibular certificate program including, but not limited to, the following:
- Certificate of Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation (CCVR) Course - 360 Neuro Health Institute
- Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Based Course - Emory University School of Medicine | Division of Physical Therapy
- Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist Certificate Program - University of Pittsburgh Department of Physical Therapy
- Vestibular Rehabilitation Certification - American Institute of Balance Certification Workshops
We’re excited to unveil the powerful new upgrades in CCVR, thoughtfully restructured to keep you at the cutting edge of vestibular rehabilitation:
- Combined a big-picture overview of the value of vestibular diagnostics: VNG, vHIT, VEMPS, & Posturography
- Added an overview of types of hearing loss, components of a comprehensive audiogram, and a Quick Guide on types of hearing loss associated with various types of vestibular-related disorders
- Dedicated lessons to peripheral versus central vestibular disorders, updates on vestibular disorders, Quick Guides on peripheral vs central nystagmus, key clinical features of most common to less common vestibular-related disorders, audio-vestibular findings associated with vestibular disorders, and commonly used medications for the management of acute vertigo & nausea
- Updates on atypical presentations of BPPV (e.g., apogeotropic posterior canalithithias, short-arm canalithiasis, and Type II BPPV), canalith repositioning maneuvers for atypical presentations as well as an introduction to the newer Universal CRM, and Quick Guides for a variety of assessments and treatments
- Separated the content for vestibular assessments and treatments into 2 separate lessons to allow more time to digest and apply clinical reasoning to the various assessments and interventions.
- Added an overview for assessing the visual system from a neuro-optometrist and physical therapist perspective and also gained access to Quick Guides on differentiating eye misalignments (tropia vs phoria) and clinical findings (superior oblique palsy vs pathological ocular tilt reaction)
- An updated lesson on the role of the neck in dizziness and how persisting symptoms of dizziness and neck pain are commonly found together.
- Added content for a closer look at acute vertigo syndromes

Objectives
Upon completion of the Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation Recertification Course, you will be able to:
- Evaluate how etiological factors (e.g., risk factors, prevalence, and comorbidities) associated with vestibular-related disorders influence the care plan and outcomes.
- Rate the various vestibular-related questionnaires and choose the one(s) most appropriate based on the patient’s presentation.
- Choose appropriate interventions for initiating therapy, progressing, and modifying activities as warranted.
- Compare new concepts in assessing and treating Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) and choose appropriate techniques accordingly.
- Evaluate the bidirectional relationship between chronic dizziness and psychological distress and incorporate the results into the individual’s care plan and treatment monitoring.
- Critique traditional and novel vestibular ocular reflex (VOR) training and choose the most appropriate and targeted activities based on the patient’s presentation and individual goals.
- Create relevant written responses that represent critical thinking about the coursework and interact with peers in a mutually respectful manner.
CEUs - This course is eligible for 12 hours of continuing education credits.
