360 Neuro Health, in collaboration with LifeMotion Balance Center, will host Concussion Management: What You Need to Know.
Join us for this current trends in concussion management workshop focusing on assessment and treatment post-concussion, including approaches in vestibular, vision, cervical, balance, and gait!
This includes how to transfer findings from concussion-related assessments into treatment progressions based on novel and comprehensive training activities. We will be discussing clinical pearls in both current and future trends in concussion management proving a comprehensive evaluation, including the use of targeted questionnaires to identify trajectories, perceived limitations, and/or psychological stressors that can affect outcomes.
This workshop also emphasizes how to develop targeted interventions from the evaluation, how to identify when a further referral is needed, and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach.
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to demonstrate the following:
Define characteristics of concussion based on the most current consensus statement.
Obtain comprehensive intake and review of past medical history from patient and/or caregiver, including identification of yellow flags to identify psychological stressors and risk factors that may affect their outcomes.
Recognize most appropriate assessments based on current trends and research in concussion management, including the use of the Concussion Profile Inventory when applicable.
Demonstrate targeted interventions based on impairments identified through reliable tests and measures as well as specific concussion trajectories.
Recognize impact of sensory re-weighting dysfunction and how to integrate specific interventions.
Evaluate the individual’s readiness to return to their previous level of function (e.g., sport, work, chores, recreational activities, etc.).
Identify the need for further testing and/or referral to another provider
