While there may not be a clear-cut protocol in concussion management, it is widely agreed that it requires a comprehensive rehab approach for those with persisting symptoms post-concussion. Join us as we discuss how to initiate and progress a variety of rehab strategies: manual, visual, vestibular, balance, auditory, cognitive, and even psychological. You will learn about available technologies for assessment and monitoring progress as well as what you can do if you don’t have access to technology or specialty providers.
The focus includes how to transfer findings from concussion-related assessments into treatment progressions based on novel and comprehensive training activities through a case-study approach.
You will be exposed to a variety of case studies across the lifespan (adolescent to geriatric) with persisting symptoms post-concussion. You will learn clinical pearls in both current and future trends in concussion management, including the use of targeted questionnaires to identify trajectories, perceived limitations, and/or psychological stressors that can affect outcomes. We'll also emphasize how to develop targeted interventions from the evaluation, how to identify when a further referral is needed, and the importance of an interdisciplinary approach.
